What is Evolution?
Evolution is a theory of science that explains the evolution of the genetic characteristics of living organisms over time. The theory is based on fact that living things adapt to their environment, which can cause variations in genes or even whole genomes. Over time the changes could result in the emergence of new species. Natural selection is the most popular theory of evolution. It explains how individuals who have advantages can reproduce faster and longer than those with less advantageous traits. As time passes, this difference in reproduction can result in the creation of entirely new species.
The term "evolution" originates from Latin for unrolling or revealing has been used in a variety of different ways as the concept has changed in both science and elsewhere. Early evolutionists like Erasmus Darwin (Charles’s grandfather) and Jean Baptiste de Lamarck believed that species were predetermined to change into a new species. Etienne Geoffroy St.Hilaire was Lamarck's embryologist pupil who invented the term "transmutation" to describe this theory. Charles Lyell, who published the second volume of his Principles of Geology in 1833 challenged this notion and borrowed the term "evolution" from Geoffroy's student to describe the notion that existing species evolve into new species in an orderly and predictable manner.
Recently, evolutionary biologists have defined evolution as a process when living creatures develop characteristics that improve their chances of survival, or their ability to reproduce offspring. As time passes, this genetic variability can lead to the emergence of entirely new physical or biological functions in the same population. Natural selection is the process that drives most evolutionary changes. Changes that are not genetic, like an increase in muscle mass due to exercise or diet, cannot be considered to be evolution since they don't pass on to future generations.
Creationists make the argument that evolution is controversial despite the fact that it has been proven to be true by thousands of scientific tests and that it has been tested over time. They argue that the theory should not be taught at school. In South Korea, creationists have had a few wins in their campaign to exclude evolution from high school textbooks and have also gotten rid of references to the evolutionary origins of humans as well as the Archaeopteryx, a feathered dinosaur that is thought to be an ancestor of birds.
Why is Evolution Important to Humanity?

Many religious people have found a way to reconcile evolution with their convictions. Some Christians, for example, believe that God created everything through evolution and that humans have an ancestral connection to other animals.
It is crucial for scientists to stand up for the teaching of evolution. In some countries, the opposition to evolution has been rising. In the United States some states have taken measures to restrict teaching evolution. In South Korea, a group known as the Society for Textbook Revise, an offshoot from the Korea Association for Creation Research (KAC) is a campaign for textbook content on the evolutionary history of horses and their Avian ancestor Archaeopteryx.
It is vital to remember, however, that the evidence in support of evolution is overwhelming. The evidence comes from a wide range of sources, including fossils, genetic studies and the behavior of living organisms. Other scientists independently confirm the evidence.
The vast majority of scientists support the theory of evolution. This belief is based on various reasons. Certain scientists study evolution to make practical discoveries, such as the development of new medicines and other treatments, while others use it to improve the quality of animal and plant species, mostly to benefit humans. Some are simply curious, whereas others have a deep religious belief in God and want to understand how the universe functions.
What is Creationism?
Creationists are those who believe that God created the universe and everything in it. They also believe that the Bible is the word of God and should be taken seriously. While some creationists are not Christian but they are a majority. Creationists are usually divided into two groups: Young Earth Creationists (YEC) or old earth creationists.
The most well-known type of creationist is known as the YEC. They believe that God created the universe exactly in the manner described in the Bible. They believe that the biblical account of the six days of creation is literal and that the universe and life on Earth started only recently.
OECs aren't as well-known, but their beliefs are as passionate like the YECs. OECs believe that the universe and all life on Earth 에볼루션 게이밍 are billions of years old and that evolution is a myth.
Both forms of creationism reject the notion that scientific principles such as natural selection and abiogenesis are able to explain the origins of life on Earth. They argue that evolution is not possible because it would require an extraordinary event, and that the scientists who founded modern science eschewed miracles for fear of losing credibility.
Some creationists are able to accept naturalistic evolution as well as special creation, and refer to their belief "theistic evolution." It is sometimes known as "continuous creationism" or "evolution from the original species." In this view, God creates the original species and allows them to change over time. These evolutionary changes will eventually produce new species that are similar to the original.
Other creationists believe that God created the universe and all living things during a single event, called the Great Flood. They believe that all species were created at the same moment and then gradually evolved. They also reject the idea of abiogenesis and argue that the emergence of self-replicating organisms from nonliving matter is impossible.
In general, creationists oppose teaching evolution at schools. This is a position that is backed by a variety of professional organizations which include the National Science Teachers Association, the Association for Science Teacher Education and the American Anthropological Association, and the Geological Society of America. Some scientists and educational institutions are however more flexible and allow evolution and creationism to be included in their curricula.
What is Creationism?
When people think about the concept of creationism, a lot think of the United States. South Korea also has an anti-evolution group. The publishers of high school textbooks have recently announced that they will remove references to evolution from their textbooks. A group called the Society for Textbook Revise (STR) is an independent organization that is an offshoot of the Korea Association for Creation Research and has been the driving force behind the move. The STR has scored its first victory by removing from textbooks evidence of the evolution and ancestor of the avian, called the Archeopteryx. The next goal is to eliminate portions of Darwin's notorious finch-research and also on human evolution.
STR claims that it has the support of 4,000 families as well as individual members. Its mission, it states, is to rid the world of what it calls "atheist materialism" that paints a negative view for students. It also aims to counteract the influence of American creationists who live in the US. A survey of the newest biology teachers revealed that around half do not believe in the concept of evolution. The reasons for this aren't entirely certain, but could be related to religious beliefs or the absence of creation scientists in the country.
The KACR has achieved many things through its lectures and seminar events. It also publishes a bimonthly magazine called Creation and an ebook. The most notable of these is a text on the natural sciences, with an evolutionary perspective that sparked interest in college communities. In 1991 an academic and minister began teaching Creation Science in one university and it is taught to this day.
On August 6-7 in 1993, the same day that the World Expo opened in Daejeon, KACR held a second International Symposium on Creation Research. Six lecturers from the world, including ICR's John Morris, Duane Gish and Steven Austin spoke to audiences of several thousand. KACR and its members have been giving lectures on creation science in major seminaries too. KACR plans to create a Creation Science Education Center in the future.
